Company Profile

“In order to succeed in today's business climate, and especially in consumer electronics, emerging companies must excel by developing superior products at competitive prices. These products must be part of a sound business plan that is backed by the resources necessary to carry it out. And perhaps most importantly, the company must be supported by high-quality partners who share a common vision of success.”

Bernie Byers, COO, Soliloquy Loudspeaker Company

6.5This core philosophy has been the driving force behind Soliloquy Loudspeaker Corporation since its inception in 1997. Bolstered by the success of a $40 million, high-tech medical equipment company, former president and CEO, Bernie Byers, began the Soliloquy Loudspeaker Company based on sound business principals that centered on the complete commitment to superior customer service and the highest standards of business ethics.

In 1998, famed British speaker designer Phil Jones was hired to design new products that would reflect Soliloquy's business philosophy and set the industry standard for performance and value. Since then, the Soliloquy line has expanded to more than eleven models manufactured in Raleigh, NC.

In August of 1999, Soliloquy enhanced production quality and efficiency with the addition of a dedicated 6000 square foot factory and its own quality control lab and evaluation sound rooms on the premises.

In 2001 after 27 plus years of industry experience including extensive tenures with Sensory Science (California Audio Labs & Loewe TV), Polk Audio, Mitsubishi and Monster Cable (plus an instrumental role in the spectacularly successful launch of the Eosone brand) David Berman joined the Soliloquy management team. He soon assumed the positions of Vice President and General Manager. With the company incorporating, he took over as President and CEO in March 2002.

The incorporation of the American Acoustic Development line of products announced at CEDIA 2001 allowed Soliloquy to further strengthen it’s selection and manufacturing capabilities. With this expansion, Soliloquy cast the formidable design talent of Phil Jones across its entire product offering, which now numbered 60+ loudspeaker models divided into 5 distinct product lines. Combined, these AAD/Soliloquy lines addressed the Living Style, Audiophile two-channel, Value Home Theater and Custom Home Theater segments of the consumer electronics market.

In 2004 Soliloquy has taken a great leap forward with the first new set of product offerings in five years. “We have attempted to raise the bar by taking a look at what is available to the consumer, at the stores where they shop, and offering products at those competitive price points with significantly better, performance, industrial design, build quality and value. We have spent two years designing each and every part of the Soliloquy line to set the standard in those categories. Best of all these products are hand-crafted in the Piedmont area of North Carolina, commonly referred to as the furniture capitol of the world.”
